Mabon, the Autumnal equinox, where the Northern and Southern Hemisphere are equally illuminated. A time of balance . A time of seeing both sides of the story. A time of seeing.
A time when the fulcrum of life shifts towards the longer nights, a time of reflection on what came before, on what will come, a celebration of Summer manifested in the bounty of the harvest and the blazing beauty of Autumn.
Mabon signals the celebration of the fruits of our summer with its symphony of golds burnt umber, ochres and vivid saffrons as we weave our way towards the magic of winter. Deep magic, dark nights, the veils of dusk draw softly in, each fallen leaf eclipsed by a gossamer thread of winter, touching us with the scent of cold. The shadows of grey and drawn out nights advance towards us as we transition through the seasons.
Mabon brings with it great celebration and with celebration we are offered a time to reflect to take thanks for our home, our hearth, our loved ones and the gifts of life we are blessed with.
The balance of the equinox offers time to reflect on being in the moment, in the centre of our own balance. We recognise the transition we are drawn to, what will be, and acknowledge what we need to discard, yesterday is no more, tomorrow we know nothing of. We honour our own equinox. We balance earth, sun and moon. We balance our place amongst those we love, our connection from our heart centre, what we offer our world, and honour our connection with the higher self.
